Three quarters of these cancers are detected in the late stages and mortality rates are devastatingly high because of lack of access to standardized cancer care. Whilst Indians are at the forefront of medical research in the West, India as a country is a laggard in researching and curing the condition.

Details of the Job/Internship

Karkinos Healthcare is inviting law students to join their office in Navi Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• To support the legal team in the day-to-day operations in the healthcare sector across a variety of tasks as detailed below:
• Analyse and summarize case laws, statutes, and regulatory updates impacting the healthcare sector.
• Support the legal team in ensuring compliance with healthcare industry standards, data privacy laws, and internal policies.
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and proofreading contracts, agreements, and legal documents such as NDAs, service agreements, and vendor contracts specific to healthcare services.
• Participate in the preparation of legal opinions, memos, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, operations, or compliance) on legal matters affecting healthcare delivery or administration.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and tracking deadlines for legal projects.

Eligibility

• The candidate must be in the final year of a recognized LLB program (3-year or 5-year course).
• Strong academic background with a keen interest in healthcare law, corporate law, or regulatory compliance.
• Basic understanding of healthcare industry regulations and legal frameworks (prior coursework or exposure preferred but not mandatory).
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proactive, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
