About Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sanjiv Khanna
Born on 14th May 1960. After enrolment as an advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1983, he began his practice in the District Courts at Delhi. After a while, he regularly appeared in the High Court of Delhi and tribunals in fields as diverse as constitutional law, direct taxes, arbitration and commercial matters, company law, land laws, environment and pollution laws and medical negligence. He had also argued a number of criminal cases in the Delhi High Court as an Additional Public Prosecutor, and on appointment by the Court as an amicus curiae. He had a long tenure of about seven years as the Senior Standing Counsel for the Income Tax Department in the Delhi High Court. In 2004, he was appointed as the Standing Counsel(Civil) for the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Elevated as an additional judge of the Delhi High Court in 2005, he was made a permanent judge in 2006. Whilst a judge of the Delhi High Court, he at different times was actively associated and involved with the Delhi Judicial Academy, the Delhi International Arbitration Centre and the district court mediation centres.
Elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 18th January 2019, he is due to retire on 13th May 2025.

Chambers of Hon'ble Mr. Justice Sanjiv Khanna, Judge, Supreme Court of India is inviting law students to intern with them.
Available Internship Slots:
- 1st October 2023 to 31st October 2023
- 1st November to 30th November 2023
Note: If you wish to apply for more than one slot, please fill out separate applications for each slot.
Since the office receives a large number of applications for each slot, it would not be possible to intimate each applicant of the status of their application. If you do not hear from the office 4 weeks prior to the start of the desired internship slot, please consider your application as not accepted.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted telephonically/via email 4-6 weeks before the start of the desired internship slot.

Eligibility
- Law students in their 4th or 5th year of the 5-year B.A./B.B.A. LL.B. course (or equivalent), or
- Law students in their 2nd or 3rd year of the 3-year LL.B. course.
NOTE: The internship is open only to law students in their 3 or 5-year law course. Those who have completed their law degrees are not eligible to apply.
