Details of the Job/Internship
The International Commission of Jurists is hiring a Legal Intern – Global Accountability Initiative (remote) to assist with drafting a background paper and conducting legal research.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct desk research on civil, administrative, and customary accountability mechanisms.
- Analyze and synthesize academic and practitioner materials.
- Draft and format a comparative legal background paper.
- Attend and report on webinars, online roundtables, and consultations.
- Provide editorial and general research support to ICJ’s legal staff.
Eligibility
- Current law student or recent law graduate (LL.M., JD, or equivalent).
- Background or coursework in international human rights law, criminal law, or transitional justice.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Demonstrated interest in accountability and access to justice.
- Fluent in English (French or Spanish is a plus).
- Must be eligible for university credit, funding, or a paid fellowship.
