Maharashtra Slum Resident Association is a not-for-profit association registered under section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. The association spreads awareness among the slum dwellers about their rights in SRA. The organization has been assisting the slum dwellers across the city for the past 8 years by making them aware of the relevant laws, policies, and circulars regulating the scheme of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority through various means of communication namely social media, campaigns, interactions with individual slum dwellers, etc. Societies across the state approach the association with the various issues in their project seeking guidance and assistance to resolve their issues. The association provides legal guidance on the issues revolving around SRA.
Details of the Job/Internship
Maharashtra Slum Resident Association is inviting law students to intern with them at their office located in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting legal research and preparing legal documents.
- File complaints, petitions, suits, appeals, etc., before SRA authorities, AGRC, additional collectors, high court, etc.
- Assist in preparing for court hearings and trials.
- Attend hearings before the additional collector, assistant registrar, deputy collector, tehsildar, AGRC, High Court, etc.
- Liaise with government officials in SRA, MHADA, BMC, etc.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing legal files and documents.
- Provide general administrative support to the legal team.
