Aditya Birla Group is hiring for the position of Lawyer to join their Gujarat office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Operating in a highly regulated business that mandates a heightened focus on statutory compliance with zero tolerance. In-house lawyers have to be equipped to provide both proactive and reactive support to ensure business continuity whilst hedging against financial/ non-financial risks. Uncertainty and dynamic nature of the regulatory framework and judicial developments warrant astute legal advice to support business.
- Drafting and reviewing various kinds of agreements and other legal documents to ensure that legal risks are minimized or eliminated and also ensure compliance with the Company’s internal risk parameters/policies as well as applicable laws or regulations.
- Standardizing of agreements.
- Detailed review of legal documents to identify potential risks to the business.
- Raise red flags and make recommendations to the business to resolve issues.
- Participate in meetings with counterparts/business teams to discuss and negotiate the terms of contracts.
- Quick turnaround of documents.
- Litigation management through Provakil, review of existing litigations and identifying the impact, identifying opportunities for cost reduction in litigation, assisting in leading litigations/ investigations, and collaborating with business and external counsels in litigation management, research, monitoring of ongoing litigations as also any that may be filed in future, record management.
- To guide the business on all types of litigation, briefing lawyers and reviewing the documents relevant to legal proceedings.
- Key Litigation update as and when it progresses.
- Drafting written statements/ rejoinders /documents and ensuring their timely filing
- Attending hearings before Court / Tribunals, following up with advocates, and more.
