Details of the Job/Internship

EMO Energy is hiring a Legal Lead with experience of 5+ years to join their office in Bangalore.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, supplier, SaaS, licensing, and commercial agreements.
• Standardize contract templates and improve turnaround time.
• Provide practical and business-oriented legal advice on transactions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, including energy, EV, corporate, and data privacy regulations.
• Develop compliance frameworks, policies, and SOPs.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and external counsel.
• Identify legal risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Handle pre-litigation matters, disputes, and legal notices.
• Coordinate with external law firms on litigation and arbitration.
• Support internal investigations and governance matters.
• Collaborate with leadership, finance, operations, and product teams.
• Assist in fundraising, partnerships, and structuring business models.
• Draft and maintain internal policies, including privacy and terms of use.
• Oversee intellectual property matters such as trademarks and copyrights.
• Build legal processes, maintain contract repositories, and improve operational efficiency.

Eligibility

• LLB / LLM from a reputed institution.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in corporate law firms.
• Strong expertise in contract drafting, regulatory compliance, and corporate/commercial laws.
• Experience in startups, energy, EV, SaaS, or tech sectors is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and build the legal function from scratch.

Salary/Stipend
