Details of the Job/Internship
Cretum Advisory is hiring for the position of Legal Manager - GST & Customs to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Advisory & Transactional Support
- Analyze client business models and provide legally sound, practical solutions
- Draft legal opinions, interpret case laws, and conduct in-depth legal research
- Advise on business restructuring and related tax implications
- Collaborate with internal compliance teams and present advisories to clients
2. Litigation & Dispute Resolution
- Handle Show Cause Notices (SCNs), assessment orders, and other litigation matters
- Develop litigation strategies, including statutory and writ-based approaches
- Draft and review appeals, petitions, and written submissions
- Liaise with authorities (GST, DGGI, DRI, etc.) and assist clients during investigations
3. Client Management & Legal Updates
- Serve as the primary legal contact for clients
- Monitor and communicate regulatory changes and tax developments
- Translate legal updates into actionable client opportunities
- Foster and manage strong client relationships
4. Business Development & Pitching
- Collaborate with BD teams to identify opportunities and pitch services
- Assess client needs and prepare tailored engagement proposals
- Follow up and ensure successful onboarding and project closure
Eligibility
- Strong command of GST, Customs, and other Indirect Tax laws.
- Proven experience in appearing before tax authorities and handling litigation.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and client relationship management.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced professional environment.
- Open to exploring new legal domains as needed.
Salary/Stipend
