Details of the Job/Internship

Cretum Advisory is hiring a Legal Manager-Indirect Tax (Litigation & Advisory) to join their office in Gurugram.

Role and Responsibilities

Advisory & Transactional Support

• Ability to analyze business models and client queries from a legal and practical standpoint.
• Experience in legal research, case law interpretation, and drafting legal opinions.
• Familiarity with business restructuring and tax implications.
• Ability to discuss advisories with clients and resolve their queries.
• Experience in collaborating with partners and compliance teams.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

• Experience in handling SCNs, orders, and notices.
• Ability to propose litigation strategy (statutory process vs. writ jurisdiction).
• Experience in drafting appeals, replies, petitions, and legal submissions.
• Ability to follow up with authorities for matter closure.
• Experience in assisting clients during investigations (DGGI, DRI, etc.).

Client Management & Legal Updates

• Experience in managing client relationships as the primary point of contact.
• Ability to keep clients informed about tax developments and regulatory changes.
• Ability to convert legal updates into business opportunities.
• Strong client relationship-building skills.

Business Development & Pitching

• Experience in working with business development teams for pitching services.
• Ability to assess client needs and prepare engagement proposals.
• Ability to follow up and ensure successful closure of engagements.

Eligibility

• Strong expertise in GST, Customs, and indirect tax laws.
• Ability to appear before tax authorities and present cases effectively.
• Willingness to explore new areas of law when required.
• Proficiency in legal research and case law analysis.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Salary/Stipend
