Details of the Job/Internship

Indigo Group is hiring a Legal Manager – Litigation, Civil & Corporate with more than 8 years of experience to join its office in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The role involves managing litigation matters, drafting and vetting agreements, ensuring compliance with Indian regulatory frameworks including SEBI, RBI, FDI, and real estate laws, handling intellectual property matters, and liaising with government authorities. Prior experience working within the Indian legal system is essential.

Role and Responsibilities

• Handling civil and commercial litigation matters before courts and tribunals across India, drafting legal notices, petitions, and affidavits, and coordinating with external counsel.
• Drafting, reviewing, and vetting corporate agreements, vendor contracts, investment contracts, employment contracts, and other legal documents in compliance with Indian laws.
• Managing intellectual property matters, including trademark and patent registrations, and advising on related disputes.
• Ensuring compliance with SEBI regulations, RBI guidelines, capital markets laws, securities laws, and FDI policies.
• Drafting and reviewing real estate documents, including sale deeds, lease agreements, and title documents, and handling property-related disputes.
• Handling consumer protection matters under MRTP, PFA, and other applicable Indian consumer protection laws.
• Advising on onshore and offshore transaction structuring and cross-border investments in compliance with Indian and international regulations.
• Implementing compliance programmes and monitoring changes in Indian legal regulations.
• Liaising with regulatory authorities such as SEBI, RBI, FDI authorities, and other government bodies, and coordinating with external legal and tax professionals.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.).
• Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) preferred.
• Minimum of 8+ years of legal experience in Indian law, specialising in corporate, civil, and intellectual property law.
• Extensive knowledge of Indian corporate, civil, and commercial law, including SEBI and RBI regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in handling intellectual property matters under Indian law.
• Familiarity with capital markets and SEBI regulations, particularly concerning FDI.
• Strong understanding of Indian real estate and consumer protection laws.
• Proficiency in Hindi and English.
