2gethr is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Specialist to manage all legal, compliance, and regulatory aspects of their organization.
Role and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Procurement to define and negotiate vendor contract terms and conditions, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
- Partner with Business Development (BD) to draft and review client contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Lead negotiations for contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers and subcontractors, achieving favorable outcomes.
- Develop robust vendor selection criteria by leveraging industry knowledge and performing comparative analyses.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Review and ensure all contracts comply with legal and regulatory standards, maintaining airtight and high-quality agreements.
- Collaborate with BD, Finance, and Design teams to ensure compliance during pitch and design stages.
- Perform risk management to minimize exposure during contract negotiation and execution.
- Draft, monitor, and enforce company policies, including health and safety regulations, corporate governance standards, and compliance with labor laws, POSH, and other corporate laws.
- Ensure secretarial compliance, including timely filings and updates with the Register of Companies.
- Handle litigation matters for the organization, including preparing pleadings, filings, and legal documentation.
- Represent the organization in courts of law, tribunals, and arbitration proceedings.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee their performance in litigation and arbitration cases.
- Monitor legal cases and ensure timely resolution while protecting the organization's interests.
- Manage escalations, disputes, arbitrations, and litigations, ensuring adherence to cycle time and budget constraints.
- Establish and monitor escalation plans and define structures for managing both internal and external escalations.
- Resolve disputes effectively while ensuring compliance with organizational and legal standards.
- Stay updated on local, state, and national rules and regulations affecting the organization's people and processes.
- Draft and vet RFPs, agreements, contracts, templates, and policies for both vendors and clients.
- Monitor and address non-compliance, non-payments, and delays in execution from clients.
- Draft and implement workplace health and safety regulations and standards.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure the implementation of measures to protect employees and stakeholders.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) with additional qualifications in corporate law, business law, or arbitration preferred.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in legal advisory, contract management, litigation, and compliance.
- Proven experience in court appearances, arbitration proceedings, and dispute resolution.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance, labor laws, and industry regulations.
- Expertise in drafting and negotiating vendor and client contracts.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide legal guidance across various departments.
