Airtel Payments Bank is hiring for the position of Legal Manager with 7 years of experience to join their office in Patna.
Role and Responsibilities
Criminal Complaint Management
- Handle fraud and criminal complaints received from law enforcement authorities or internal sources.
- Assess complaints, gather supporting documentation and evidence, and evaluate the merits of each case.
- Draft and file complaints/FIRs with relevant authorities, ensuring legal compliance and accuracy.
- Coordinate with internal legal teams and external counsel to support investigation and prosecution.
- Maintain comprehensive case records, documentation, and status updates.
Court Representation
- Appear before courts as required to prosecute or defend complaints filed by or against the organization.
- Conduct legal research and prepare necessary pleadings, affidavits, and written arguments.
- Support trial and pre-trial activities, including submission of evidence and case updates.
- Liaison with Law Enforcement & Government Agencies
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and law enforcement agencies (police, regulatory authorities, etc.).
- Collaborate with sales and compliance teams to facilitate communication with police in fraud or verification-related matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant officials to ensure smooth coordination during investigations or legal procedures.
- Assist in registering FIRs, following up on investigations, and addressing legal queries from government bodies.
- Represent the company at meetings or sessions with law enforcement and regulatory agencies as needed.
Eligibility
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); enrollment with Bar Council preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in criminal law, litigation, complaint handling, and police liaison.
- Preferred: Prior experience in securing FIR registrations and managing external stakeholders like enforcement officials.
- Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of Indian Penal Code, CrPC, and police procedures
- Excellent drafting and documentation skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple ongoing cases
- Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office
- High degree of integrity, discretion, and professional judgment
