Details of the Job/Internship

Areion is hiring a Legal Manager for its NBFC division to manage legal compliance, mitigate legal risks, and provide legal support across departments. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee legal disputes and litigation related to acquired NPA accounts.
• Handle matters under the DRT Act, SARFAESI Act, IBC, 2016, and other applicable banking and financial laws.
• Collaborate with the acquisition team to ensure legal compliance in the purchase of NPAs.
• Monitor compliance with audit requirements and RBI regulations applicable to ARCs.
• Analyse NPA accounts to determine appropriate resolution strategies.
• Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to asset resolution.
• Contribute to the development and revision of internal policies on asset reconstruction.
• Provide legal inputs on policies governing NPA management.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognised university.
• A Master’s degree in Law or relevant specialisation may be preferred.
• Relevant experience in legal roles within the financial services sector, preferably with ARCs, NBFCs, or banks.
• Sound knowledge of banking and finance laws, RBI regulations, securities regulations, consumer protection laws, and contract law.
