Details of the Job/Internship

Ashiana Housing Limited is hiring for the position of Legal Manager with 8-12 years of experience to join their office in Chennai. 

Role and Responsibilities

Land Acquisition & Negotiation

• Identify and help procure cost-effective land parcels for development.
• Negotiate with landowners, brokers, and local stakeholders (including farmers).

Legal Due Diligence & Compliance

• Review due diligence reports and identify key legal issues.
• Prepare action checklists to resolve title or documentation issues.
• Manage land registration, mutation, sub-division, land use conversion, and possession procedures.

Liaison & Government Relations

• Interface with government departments: SDM Office, Tehsildar Office, CMDA, Nagar Parishad, Police, and others.
• Maintain and grow key external relationships to support project progress.

Regulatory & Legal Oversight

• Manage all legal documentation and compliance related to EWS/LIG allotments, sales, and collections.
• Supervise legal matters before various courts; coordinate with and brief external advocates as needed.

Eligibility

• Qualification: Law graduate with 8–12 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the real estate sector.
• Language Proficiency: Strong communication skills in English and Tamil (both written and spoken).
• Domain Expertise:
• In-depth understanding of Tamil Nadu land laws, property transactions, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in liaising with government authorities and handling legal documentation.

Salary/Stipend
