Details of the Job/Internship

Asian Paints is hiring a Manager - Legal to oversee its litigation and dispute resolution landscape from the Mumbai headquarters.

Role and Responsibilities

• Oversee civil, criminal, consumer, recovery, arbitration, and regulatory litigations across various jurisdictions.
• Formulate comprehensive litigation strategies in coordination with senior management and external counsels.
• Draft and finalize legal notices, pleadings, affidavits, writ petitions, and settlement agreements.
• Monitor case progress and maintain litigation MIS, dashboards, and management reports.
• Implement legal technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency in litigation and contract workstreams.
• Review and negotiate commercial contracts, including leases, vendor agreements, and NDAs.
• Provide legal inputs on property due diligence and title verification projects.
• Act as a legal advisor to sales, marketing, supply chain, and manufacturing teams.
• Appoint and manage external counsels while controlling litigation costs and fee structures.
• Lead and mentor a team of Assistant Managers and Executives to build process efficiencies and SOPs.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB).
• Prior experience in a corporate legal department with heavy litigation exposure.
• Experience handling large litigation portfolios and coordinating with external law firms.
• Familiarity with manufacturing setups, corporate environments, or high-growth startups.
• Knowledge of white-collar crime and competition law matters.
• Proficiency in using legal tech platforms and AI-based research solutions.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
