Details of the Job/Internship

Bandhan Bank is hiring a Legal Manager with 7–10 years of experience to support its legal and litigation functions.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and respond to letters and legal notices received from customers, lawyers, courts, and authorities.
• Manage litigation matters including civil, criminal, consumer, recovery, arbitration, DRT, DRAT, High Court, and NCLT cases.
• Coordinate with external advocates, review pleadings, and track court hearings and orders.
• Provide legal advice on banking operations, lending, recovery, and regulatory matters.
• Review contracts, loan documents, and agreements.
• Maintain Legal MIS, dashboards, case repositories, and prepare periodic management reports.
• Coordinate filing of police complaints and work with the Fraud Control Unit.
• Support empanelment of lawyers and obtain powers of attorney for authorized officers under SARFAESI.
• Monitor vendor management, lawyer billing, and performance reviews.
• Oversee the end-to-end SARFAESI process including possession, auction, and sale in coordination with internal teams and external agencies.
• Attend court matters as instructed and update case status and next hearing dates to the reporting manager.
• Maintain proper records and files for all notices and litigation matters.
• Participate in monthly meetings with the Head Office Legal team and escalate critical issues.
• Conduct legal research and update team members on landmark judgments and RBI circulars.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures and legal policies.

Eligibility

• LL.B. degree is mandatory, with LL.M. preferred.
• 7–10 years of legal experience with exposure to banking or financial services.
• Strong experience in litigation handling, notice management, legal drafting, and court coordination.
• Sound knowledge of banking laws, SARFAESI Act, NI Act, Contract Act, and RBI guidelines.
