In 2018, BharatPe launched India’s first UPI interoperable QR code, the first zero MDR payment acceptance service. In 2020, post-Covid, BharatPe also launched India’s only zero MDR card acceptance terminal – BharatSwipe. Currently serving over 1 million merchants across 400+ cities, the company is a leader in UPI offline transactions, with an annualized Transaction Processed Value of US$ 26 Bn in payments. The company has already facilitated the disbursement of loans totaling over ₹10000 crores to merchants, since launch.
Details of the Job/Internship
BharatPe is hiring a Legal Manager with experience of 5+ years to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of technology agreements to support the business team, including terms of use, master services agreements, business correspondent agreements, payment facilitation agreements, association/network agreements, and financial institution partnership agreements.
- Providing compliance advice to the product development team and to other internal teams to ensure Bharatpe products are compliant with applicable regulations.
- Developing and maintaining internal as well as external stakeholders.
- Coordinating with the internal team on internal matters and providing guidance.
- Working on proactive engagement with regulatory bodies on policy advocacy and advisory for Fintech policies.
- Ensure that Bharatpe's policies and procedures are followed and that all commercial agreements align with company policies, other contractual obligations, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify trends and potential impacts of legal and regulatory changes on data security and advise Bharatpe Group on these developments.
Eligibility
- Law Graduate from a recognized university. 5+ years post-qualification experience in a law firm or corporate legal department with experience in finance/banking.
- Ability to build trusting relationships - across all levels and in the immediate/extended team
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as UPI, Nodal Bank Accounts, RBI KYC norms, Card regulations, Payment Aggregators, and Payment & Settlement Acts.
- Excellent Communication Skills to effectively engage with clients.
- Excellent English language both written as well as verbal.
- Extremely high ownership.
- Self-starter with a bias for action.
- Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous environment.
- Robust Interpersonal Skills for collaborating with various Units to facilitate closures
- Effective Team Player.
Salary/Stipend
