Charles Group is hiring a Legal Manager with experience of 5 years to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conducting legal analysis and researching legal matters.
- Drafting legal opinions, memoranda, offer letters/letters of intent, MoU, and briefing documents.
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties on behalf of the company.
- Draft agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights.
- Handle litigation work, and represent in courts/ tribunal/ quasi-judicial bodies on behalf of the company.
- Negotiating and drafting confidentiality agreements and Non-disclosure agreements.
- Draft Legal notices and Reply Notices.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents (sale agreements, sale deeds, lease agreements, MoUs, land aggregator agreements, and other property-related documentation).
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution matters.
- Liaising effectively with consultants, advisors, and external counsels to manage multiple projects such as obtaining legal opinions on legal structures, title opinions of the assets, and reviewing and updating internal and external legal documents.
- Coordinate with real estate legal consultants and other members of real estate teams.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel and other legal advisors.
- Draft the replies to the queries in consultation with the senior team members.
- To handle legal issues on behalf of the company effectively to minimize exposure of the organization to claims and litigation in real estate matters.
- Research on relevant sections of statutes and case laws as and when required for preparing internal legal opinions and litigations.
- Conducting preliminary legal due diligence.
- Review, research, interpret, and prepare both written and oral opinions on a wide variety of legal issues.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Conduct legal due diligence on properties to be acquired by the company. Physical inspection of properties checking the property documents from vendors or third parties and providing legal opinions.
- Evaluate title reports, zoning issues, environmental concerns, and other legal aspects of real estate transactions.
- Address and resolve title and ownership disputes.
- Work with surveyors to verify property boundaries and resolve any discrepancies.
- Handle legal issues related to property transactions and train operations.
- Manage legal disputes related to real estate transactions, contracts, or property ownership.
- Liaise with external legal counsel when necessary and represent the company's interests in litigation.
- Assess and manage legal risks associated with property ownership and development.
Eligibility
- Candidates who have completed LLB or LLM with a minimum of 5 years of Corporate Experience.
