Details of the Job/Internship

DHL is hiring a Legal Manager with experience of 7 years to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provides legal advice for all matters that involve litigation by or against the Group entities.
• Advises members of the business on legal and related risks associated with DPDHL's operations in area of responsibility.
• Analyse and interpret case law, court reports, judgments/ orders and proposed and existing laws and regulations to prepare technical reports on how they impact the organisation’s operations.
• Advises business on legal trends and developing areas of law.
• Works with supervisor to manage internal and external legal spend in area of responsibility.
• Works as member of a team defending the organization's legal interests in litigation and claims in own area of responsibility
• Maintains close contact with network of external legal counsels across the country for various matters
• May assists with budget preparation for legal function in area of responsibility
• Conversant with and understanding of legal technology and its potential use in delivering legal services
• Maintains and updates data base of all legal cases filed by or against each business unit and provides to statutory auditors and internal stakeholders as and when requested
• Creates and maintains a good network and repute with external counsels in various courts and tribunals within territory.

Eligibility

• University law degree.
• Professional law qualifications.
• Growing understanding of DHL's business operations; goals and strategies in area of responsibility.
• Having worked in reputed law firms and handled diverse litigations at all levels from district courts to Supreme Court.
• Good drafting and legal analytical skills.
• Ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise in business environment.
• Not less than 7 years of relevant legal experience.
• Sound knowledge in handling corporate laws related matters including understanding on procedural laws.

Salary/Stipend
