Details of the Job/Internship

Eli Lilly and Company is hiring for the position of Legal Manager with experience of 5+ years to join their Bengaluru office. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Serve as a key resource and provide effective day-to-day legal support resulting in legal solutions that help the Affiliate to achieve business objectives, minimize legal risks, and comply with local laws, regulations, and company policies (legal counseling in various areas of law including commercial, promotion, regulatory and corporate matters, transactions, litigation, competition, anti-bribery, FCPA, sanctions, advertising, tax, IP, labor issues).
• Proactively support the company in preventing, detecting, and responding to legal risks in business operations, and drive solutions for products, processed, and services in the Affiliate. Monitor, identify, interpret and timely communicate to the internal clients changes in the law potentially affecting business operations. Assist with internal controls and compliance program enhancements. Legal strategy to adopt, develop, and implement programs, policies, and practices in the Affiliate. Make decisions that impact a range of standard and non-standard operational, processes, projects, or service activities. Engage cross-functional/ cross-geographical collaboration to replicate best practices.
• Participate in regional and corporate assignments/projects. Communicate with lawyers in IBU and Corporate Center to ensure one voice counseling and effective use of Legal resources across the geographies.
• Defend the company in government investigations/inquiries. When needed, cooperate with in-house counsels on internal investigations with the assistance of an external law firm or in-house HR or Compliance investigation resource.
• Develop and conduct training programs for the Affiliate’s employees based on the identified needs.
• Support and lead the implementation of legal strategy, budgeting process, anti-counterfeit activities, AI projects, and advocating activities in local associations and on the external front.

Eligibility

• Degree in law from the top universities.
• Fluent in English.
• At least 5 years experience in an international law firm or in-house legal department of ma ultinational pharmaceutical company or a Capability Center service company. Optional: international or non-pharmaceutical multinational experience.
