Details of the Job/Internship
Enova by Veolia is hiring a Legal Manager with experience of 3 to 5 years to join their office in Dubai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of legal matters, including corporate governance, compliance, contracts, corporate structuring, intellectual property, labor and employment law, data protection, and other business-critical issues. Provide strategic advice on business decisions.
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, including commercial, vendor, partnership, and licensing agreements.
- Ensure contract compliance and identify potential risks in business agreements.
- Oversee compliance with applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.
- Lead efforts for regulatory filings and ensure the organization’s adherence to industry-specific regulatory requirements.
- Draft, review, and ensure the proper execution of resolutions passed by shareholders and the board of directors. This role involves ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards, company bylaws, and relevant laws and/or joint ventures agreements during the drafting process, as well as maintaining proper records of resolutions.
- Oversee and ensure the organization’s compliance with all applicable data protection laws and regulations. Lead data protection initiatives, monitor compliance, and ensure the organization handles personal data responsibly and securely.
- Identify potential legal risks and provide risk mitigation strategies for the business.
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are legally sound and up to date.
- Manage and oversee all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.
- Work closely with external legal counsel to develop strategies for dispute resolution and manage settlements or outcomes.
- Manage a team of legal professionals in the day-to-day performance, ensuring effective delegation of tasks and timely delivery of legal services.
- Collaborate with other departments such as HR, finance, and operations to support the company’s legal and business needs.
- Communicate legal strategies and outcomes to key stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain legal reports, records, and documents.
- Review and manage legal documentation for business operations, mergers, and acquisitions.
Eligibility
- Law degree (LLB or JD) from an accredited university.
- Additional qualifications or certifications in data protection law, corporate law, compliance, or other relevant fields are a plus.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of legal experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior legal role or managerial capacity.
- Experience in facility management contracts, EPC’s, Energy performance contracts would be advantageous.
- Extensive experience in commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and litigation.
- Proven track record in managing complex legal issues and advising senior management.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory matters.
- Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a legal team.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects effectively.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach to legal issues.
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand the strategic goals of the business.
- Integrity and the ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
