Details of the Job/Internship

Kia India is hiring a Legal Manager to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and codes of conduct aligned with company standards.
• Manage litigation matters with a specific focus on Consumer, Property, and Recovery cases.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and report on findings to develop risk-mitigation strategies.
• Provide proactive legal and regulatory advice on business impacts, particularly for Sales and Marketing.
• Conduct awareness and training sessions for employees on legal compliance and ethics.
• Manage legal tools and case management systems for efficient reporting and feedback loops.
• Coordinate with external counsels for court representation and specialized legal opinions.
• Offer day-to-day legal advice to internal business teams to resolve operational bottlenecks.
• Maintain a high level of preparedness for short-notice travel and regional site visits.

Eligibility

• Experience: Prior experience as an in-house counsel in the Automotive sector is highly preferred.
• Legal Expertise: Well-versed in laws related to Manufacturing, Sales, Consumer Protection, and Property.
• Communication: Must be fluent in English and the local language (Kannada) for effective stakeholder interaction.
• Technical Skills: Experience in Tool Management and Case Management software.
• Attributes: Hard-working, self-motivated, and willing to take on additional responsibilities beyond the core JD.
