Details of the Job/Internship
Kishor Kalyanji Corp LLP is hiring a Legal Manager to oversee all legal matters related to the company’s import-export activities. The role involves managing commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, navigating international trade laws (including GAFTA), handling forex-related legalities, and dealing with ongoing litigations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including sales agreements, supplier contracts, distribution agreements, and hypothecation agreements.
- Ensure compliance with import-export laws, including customs duties, tariffs, and local regulatory changes.
- Manage legal matters related to international trade agreements, focusing on GAFTA terms and regulations.
- Oversee legal aspects related to foreign exchange (forex) regulations, currency fluctuations, and cross-border payments.
- Oversee the resolution of legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify legal risks and provide proactive legal advice.
- Work closely with other departments (Sales, Operations, Finance, and HR) to integrate legal support across the business.
Eligibility
- LLB (Bachelor of Law) degree from a recognized institution, with a combination of CA (Chartered Accountant) Professional Degree.
- Additional certifications in international trade law, customs, or corporate law are advantageous.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in a legal role, preferably in the import-export, trading, or international business sector.
- Strong experience in commercial contracts, international trade regulations (GAFTA), customs compliance, forex law, and NCLT procedures.
- Familiarity with the legal aspects of hypothecation, asset financing, and corporate law.
