KMK Ventures is hiring a Legal Manager with 7–15+ years of experience to join their office in Ahmedabad.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise vendor agreements, customer contracts, NDAs, MSAs, SLAs, PO terms, licensing agreements, MOUs, LOIs, and amendments.
- Identify contractual risks related to liability, indemnity, IP protection, termination, and payment terms.
- Maintain contract templates, negotiation playbooks, approval workflows, and compliance controls.
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including renewals, notices, and obligations.
- Handle employee legal issues, including disciplinary actions, terminations, misconduct, harassment cases, salary disputes, and compliance violations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and HR regulations, including POSH for India.
- Draft and review employment contracts, HR policies, NDAs, non-solicit clauses, and conduct internal investigations.
- Advise HR leadership on sensitive employee issues to prevent litigation and risk exposure.
- Ensure compliance with company law, corporate filings, and statutory registers.
- Maintain compliance systems for sector-specific regulations, data protection laws, and local and state requirements.
- Conduct internal audits, create compliance manuals, and implement policy upgrades.
- Manage regulatory interactions and respond to legal notices.
- Manage pre-litigation strategy, including legal notices, replies, settlements, documentation, and risk assessment.
- Coordinate with external counsel for litigation and arbitration and ensure timely case progress.
- Maintain a litigation tracker and provide updates to leadership.
- Prepare case documents, evidence, agreements, and internal communication records.
- Provide day-to-day legal advisory to sales, finance, HR, procurement, and operations.
- Evaluate legal risks in new projects, marketing, business expansion, and vendor and customer onboarding.
- Train internal teams on contract basics, fraud prevention, compliance, and ethics policies.
Eligibility
- LLB or LLM from a recognised university.
- 7–15+ years of legal experience, depending on seniority.
- Strong background in contracts, HR legal matters, compliance, and dispute handling.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating with external counsel.
Salary/Stipend
