Details of the Job/Internship
Kotak Mahindra Prime Limited is hiring an AVP – Legal (LAP) with 10–12 years of experience in the finance industry, preferably in banking and finance, to join their Goregaon, Mumbai office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Review finance facility agreements and related security documents.
- Conduct due diligence of properties intended for mortgage.
- Provide legal advice and opinions to business teams.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and close loan, security, assignment, securitization, and other finance-related documents.
- Support business teams with ongoing legal documentation.
- Manage complete legal documentation for banking transactions.
- Advise on legal frameworks applicable to proposed business products.
- Liaise with departments to ensure appropriate actions are taken on identified legal risks.
Eligibility
- Graduate degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university (full-time). LLM preferred.
- 10–12 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in banking and finance.
- Sound understanding of mortgage industry, due diligence, Stamp Act, Transfer of Property Act, SARFAESI, NCLT, and immovable property laws.
- Fluency in English and Hindi (reading and writing). Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Process-oriented, team player, and confident in handling complex legal issues.
