Details of the Job/Internship

Mafatlal Industries Limited is hiring a Legal Manager with a minimum of 6 years of experience to join their office in Churchgate, Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on corporate, commercial, and financial transactions.
• Draft, review, and negotiate corporate agreements, commercial contracts, government tender documents, and legal correspondence.
• Handle litigation matters including civil, commercial, and criminal cases involving the company.
• Conduct legal research and study underlying transactions, facts, and documents related to disputes.
• Coordinate with litigating lawyers and assist in preparing case notes, briefs, facts, petitions, and legal submissions.
• Independently handle minor litigations such as cheque bouncing and civil matters.
• Assist the Legal Head in complex and major litigation matters.
• Keep management and business teams informed about regulatory changes and developments in applicable laws.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide integrated legal support for business objectives.
• Assist management in various legal tasks and projects as assigned.

Eligibility

• LL.B. degree.
• Minimum 6 years of experience as a corporate lawyer with a company or law firm.
• Experience in a listed company will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of commercial, civil, and corporate laws with reasonable knowledge of criminal laws.
• Experience in corporate governance, securities regulations, and drafting commercial contracts and tender documents.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in English.
• Exposure to IT tools, legal software, and the use of AI in the legal field will be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
