Details of the Job/Internship

Minsol is hiring for the position of Legal Manager with 8-12 years of experience to join their office in Kolkata metropolitan Area.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Legal Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws including:
• Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act (MMDR)
• Mines Act, 1952
• Forest Conservation Act, 1980
• Environmental Protection Act, 1986
• Explosives Act, 1884
• Liaise with authorities (DGMS, MoEF, SPCB, etc.) for filings, renewals, and inspections
• Maintain and audit legal records, permits, and clearances

2. Contract Management

• Draft, review, and negotiate key commercial agreements:
• Mining leases
• EPC/O&M contracts
• Land and logistics agreements
• NDAs, MoUs, and JV documents
• Standardize legal documentation and approval processes

3. Land & Property Legal Affairs

• Conduct due diligence and manage legal aspects of land acquisition
• Resolve disputes related to ownership, compensation, and registration
• Maintain updated records of land and mining asset titles

4. Litigation & Dispute Resolution

• Represent Minsol in legal proceedings (civil, criminal, labor, land)
• Coordinate with external legal counsel and government representatives
• Manage arbitration and alternative dispute resolution processes

5. Labour & Employment Law

• Ensure statutory compliance with labor laws:
• Factories Act, 1948
• Contract Labour Act, 1970
• EPF & ESIC regulations
• Support HR in managing employee grievances and union matters

6. Legal Risk & Strategic Advisory

• Provide legal counsel to management and department heads
• Identify potential legal risks and lead mitigation initiatives
• Offer legal inputs during strategic planning and operational decisions

7. Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Legal Compliance

• Ensure legal compliance with EHS regulations and audits
• Guide the EHS team in obtaining required permits and addressing non-compliance risks

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized university.
• 8–12 years of legal experience (mining, infrastructure, or industrial sectors preferred).
• Registration with the Bar Council is desirable.
