Details of the Job/Internship
Navi is hiring a legal manager to join them in Bengaluru office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contract Review and Management: Oversee the drafting, review and analysis of complex commercial contracts.
- Standardized Contract Playbook Development: Develop and maintain a standardized contract playbook, including templates, guidelines, and best practices, to streamline the contract drafting and negotiation process. Collaborate with various departments to ensure consistent application of standardized terms and conditions.
- Policy Collaboration and Development: Work closely with HR, Finance, Operations, Internal Audit and other teams to develop and update company policies, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with organizational objectives.
- HR and Employment law advisory: Advise HR and management teams on various employment and labour law related matters.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, external legal counsel, business partners, vendors and regulatory bodies, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization, such as finance, sales, and operations etc to support business initiatives and address legal issues.
- Legal Research and Compliance: Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on various matters related to commercial contracts, employment law, and regulatory compliance to mitigate risks.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Investment Transactions: Lead legal due diligence and negotiation for M&A and investment transactions, ensuring comprehensive risk assessment and legal compliance. Provide strategic legal advice on corporate restructuring, joint ventures, and other complex transactions.
- Process Standardization and Optimization: Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures for contract review, M&A transactions, and legal compliance, including automation and standardization, to improve productivity and reduce turnaround time.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team to ensure high performance and professional growth. Allocate resources efficiently and manage team workloads to meet departmental goals.
Eligibility
- B.A., LL.B. (Hons.)/ J.D/ equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.
- 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in commercial contract management, general corporate advisory, M&A/PE/VC transactions or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
Salary/Stipend
