Details of the Job/Internship
Novel Jewels (Aditya Birla Group) is hiring for the position of Legal Manager with experience of 10-12 years to join their Mumbai office.
Role and Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to laws and regulations in retail, including signage, legal metrology, labor laws, e-commerce, data privacy, manufacturing, and warehouse operations.
- Manage trade licenses and permissions required for retail operations.
Compliance Management System:
- Operate and maintain compliance management portals.
- Track, update, and monitor compliance requirements and deadlines.
Government Liaison:
- Build and maintain relationships with regulatory authorities.
- Provide expert guidance on compliance requirements.
Notice and Litigation Management:
- Draft responses to regulatory notices and correspondence.
- Handle legal matters and litigations arising from non-compliance issues.
- Coordinate with legal teams for effective resolution of disputes.
Advisory Role:
- Act as the subject-matter expert on retail compliance, providing advice to internal stakeholders.
- Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments.
Training and Awareness:
- Train and educate internal teams on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Develop and implement policies to promote a compliance culture within the organization.
Eligibility
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Experience: 10-12 years of proven experience in retail compliance, with exposure to e-commerce, manufacturing, and warehouse compliance.
