Details of the Job/Internship

Porter is hiring a Legal Manager with 4–7 years of post-qualification experience to join its team in Bengaluru. The role involves managing legal compliance for international business operations, data privacy, intellectual property, employment law, and technology-related contracts, while providing strategic legal guidance across the organisation.

Role and Responsibilities

• Ensure legal compliance for international business operations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with global external counsel to manage litigation and local legal requirements.
• Manage legal aspects of international business expansion, including structuring, licensing, employment contracts, and cross-border data transfer agreements.
• Lead the corporate data privacy function and ensure compliance with laws such as the DPDP, including data mapping and incident response frameworks.
• Manage vendor data protection activities through due diligence, contract negotiation, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
• Oversee protection, maintenance, and enforcement of the company’s intellectual property portfolio globally.
• Provide legal guidance on employment law and labour compliance across central, state, and municipal regulations.
• Negotiate and review IT agreements, vendor contracts, and SaaS agreements, identifying risks and ensuring favourable terms.
• Advise stakeholders on legal implications of IT services, products, software acquisitions, and technology partnerships.

Eligibility

• Law Graduate / LL.B.
• 4–7 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to uphold high ethical standards and manage diverse stakeholder expectations.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on execution and process improvement.
