Details of the Job/Internship

Porter is hiring a Legal Counsel with 4–7 years of post-qualification experience to support its international operations and technology-related legal matters. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Ensure legal compliance for all international business operations and monitor regulatory requirements across jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with global external counsel to manage litigation and legal matters across jurisdictions.
• Handle legal aspects related to international expansion, including structuring, licensing, employment contracts and cross-border data transfer agreements.
• Lead the corporate data privacy function and ensure compliance with laws such as the DPDP.
• Implement frameworks for data mapping, governance and incident response.
• Conduct vendor due diligence and negotiate contracts related to data protection and third-party compliance.
• Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property portfolio and monitor potential infringements globally.
• Provide legal guidance on employment law and labour regulation compliance.
• Review and negotiate IT agreements, SaaS contracts and vendor agreements.
• Advise stakeholders on legal risks associated with IT services, software acquisitions and technology partnerships.

Eligibility

• Law Graduate / LL.B. with 4–7 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain high ethical standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to legal matters.

Salary/Stipend
