Details of the Job/Internship
RNS Group is hiring a Legal Manager with 7–15 years of experience to join their office in Kolkata (Minto Park).
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle all legal cases and court matters on behalf of the company.
- Manage cases under Sections 138 and 142 of the Negotiable Instruments Act.
- Coordinate with external advocates and legal consultants.
- Prepare, review, and file legal notices, replies, pleadings, affidavits, and other court documents.
- Handle labour law matters, employment disputes, and compliance issues.
- Advise management on labour laws, disciplinary actions, and employee-related legal risks.
- Advise business teams on legal rights, obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Draft, vet, and negotiate contracts, agreements, MOUs, NDAs, and other legal documents.
- Support transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and financings.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, RBI regulations, and NBFC-specific legal requirements.
- Manage regulatory filings, documentation, and statutory records.
- Monitor changes in laws and advise management on necessary actions.
- Protect the company from legal and financial risks.
- Support corporate governance practices and internal policies.
- Handle intellectual property matters, if applicable.
- Provide proactive legal guidance to senior management.
- Assist in decision-making by assessing legal risks and implications.
- Represent the company in negotiations, hearings, and legal proceedings.
Eligibility
- Law degree (LLB or LLM) from a recognised university.
- Proven experience in the NBFC, banking, or financial services sector is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the Negotiable Instruments Act, labour laws, corporate laws, and compliance.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle litigation and advisory work independently.
- Minimum 7–15 years of relevant legal experience is preferred.
Salary/Stipend
