Details of the Job/Internship
Shobiz Experiential is hiring for the position of legal manager with 2 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
Contract Drafting and Scrutineering:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, licensing contracts, partnership agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and service agreements.
- Scrutinize legal documents to ensure clarity, compliance with laws, and risk mitigation before finalization.
- Ensure that contract terms align with the company's legal and business interests.
Legal Advisory:
- Provide legal counsel on a range of non-litigation issues, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions.
- Advise internal teams on the interpretation and application of laws to business operations.
Cyber Law:
- Stay informed on developments related to Cyber Law, including data protection regulations, cybersecurity, e-commerce laws, and privacy laws.
- Advise on issues related to data privacy, data breaches, intellectual property in digital environments, and compliance with laws such as GDPR, IT Act, etc.
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR):
- Oversee the organization’s IP portfolio, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
- Provide legal advice on the protection, management, and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
- Advise on IP-related licensing, commercialization, and infringement matters.
Compliance and Regulatory Matters:
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the organization’s operations. Advise on the implementation of compliance policies and frameworks.
- Monitor and ensure the company complies with applicable industry regulations, including data protection laws and cybersecurity standards.
- Corporate Governance:
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including board meetings, resolutions, shareholder meetings, and compliance with corporate laws and regulations.
- Provide advice on legal and corporate matters related to company structure and operations.
Dispute Prevention and Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal disputes and provide early advice and solutions to avoid escalation.
- Help manage the organization’s legal risks, proposing strategies to minimize liability.
Legal Research and Updates:
- Conduct thorough legal research to stay current on emerging issues in Cyber Law, IPR, and related fields.
- Regularly update the business on legal developments that may impact operations.
Internal Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to address legal matters and provide guidance on contracts, IP management, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide training to internal teams on legal processes, compliance, and best practices.
Eligibility
- Education: Law degree (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in non-litigation legal practice with a strong focus on contract law, IPR, and Cyber Law.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal contracts.
- Proven experience in advising on IP-related matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and related litigation avoidance.
