Deutsche Bank is hiring a Legal Negotiator – Associate with experience of 5.5–8 years to join its Regional Office Legal team in Mumbai. The role involves providing derivative documentation and transaction legal support across APAC, EU, and US regions, including drafting and negotiating mid to high complexity contracts related to OTC and listed derivatives, clearing, and financial product transactions.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of master agreements including Listed Futures and Options Agreements, Client Cleared OTC Derivatives Addendum, Supplement to Clearing Agreements for Cleared OTC Services, Electronic Trading Service Agreements, ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support documents, and related amendments.
- Review constitutional documents and ensure requisite corporate consents and approvals prior to finalisation of agreements and trading.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, teams, and business divisions regarding risk, deviations, and queries related to master agreements.
- Build relationships with internal and external clients, understand their business requirements, and work closely with them.
- Ensure functions are performed in line with business and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory matters relevant to the role.
- Participate in documentation and process improvement initiatives.
Eligibility
- Law degree or Commonwealth qualified lawyer or solicitor.
- 5.5–8 years of PQE for Associate level.
- Experience in financial products or commercial contract drafting and negotiations.
- Prior experience in derivative documentation is an advantage.
- Strong drafting ability, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read complex legal documents and work independently as well as in teams.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
