Deutsche Bank Group is a global financial services provider with expertise across investment banking, corporate banking, private banking, and asset management. The Regional Office Legal team (“RO Legal”) in Mumbai is a team of around thirty lawyers providing expertise in derivative documentation and transaction legal support to various businesses of Deutsche Bank Group across the APAC, EU, and US regions.

Details of the Job/Internship

Deutsche Bank is hiring Legal Negotiators to join its Mumbai office and support derivative and financial product transactions undertaken globally. The role involves drafting and negotiating mid and high complexity contracts and related legal documentation, liaising with internal stakeholders, front office teams, and clients, and ensuring delivery, process, and client management.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of master agreements including ISDA Master Agreements, Credit Support documents (CSA, CSDs), GMRA, MRA, GMSLA, MSLA, Prime Brokerage Agreements, and related amendments.
• Review constitutional documents and ensure requisite corporate consents and approvals are in place prior to finalization of agreements.
• Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders and business divisions on risk, deviations, and queries related to agreements.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external clients, understanding their business needs and operations.
• Ensure compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
• Stay updated on legal and regulatory matters relevant to the role.
• Participate in documentation and process improvement initiatives.

Eligibility

• Law degree or Commonwealth qualified lawyer or solicitor.
• PQE: 2–5 years for Senior Analyst level; 6–8 years for Associate level in financial products or commercial contract drafting and negotiations.
• Prior experience in derivative documentation is an advantage.
• Strong drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
