Details of the Organization
Digital India Corporation (DIC) is a not-for-profit company established by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. Formerly known as Media Lab Asia, it was renamed Digital India Corporation on September 8, 2017. DIC guides and supports the implementation of the Digital India programme, providing strategic assistance to central and state ministries in capacity building, e-governance initiatives, innovation and public-private partnerships.
Details of the Job/Internship
Digital India Corporation is hiring a Legal Officer with 5+ years of experience to support techno-legal, policy, litigation and adjudication work related to cyber laws and IT regulations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct legal and techno-legal research on international and domestic laws, regulations, treaties and policies related to cyber space, ICT, cybersecurity and privacy.
- Draft Bills, rules, regulations, policies, guidelines and advisories related to the IT Act, IT Act amendments and other cyber laws.
- Assist in addressing public grievances related to cyber laws.
- Provide legal opinions and advice on cyber-law matters.
- Analyse policies, terms of service and grievance redressal mechanisms of intermediaries, including social media platforms.
- Ensure effective written and verbal communication in all responsibilities.
Eligibility
- Degree in Law from a recognised university.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in policy, litigation, adjudication or related work.
- Desirable experience with techno-legal matters under the IT Act, 2000 and IT Rules, 2021.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
