Details of the Job/Internship

HDFC ERGO General Insurance Company Limited is hiring a Legal Officer (desk role) to handle MACT matters from a legal and insurance perspective at their Pune office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Scrutinising claim petitions, FIRs, charge sheets, and medical records to assess liability and policy coverage.
• Negotiating claim amounts with claimants and advocates using established compensation principles.
• Coordinating with panel advocates, surveyors, and the internal claims team and occasionally attending MACT hearings.
• Drafting legal notes, settlement approvals, internal reports, and maintaining case records and compliance.

Eligibility

• Knowledge of MACT law, the Motor Vehicles Act, and compensation principles.
• Ability to read and understand Marathi.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and basic legal drafting skills.

Salary/Stipend
