Details of the Job/Internship
Indira Group of Institutes is hiring for the position of Legal Officer with 10 years of experience to join their office in Pune.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice to the leadership team on academic, administrative, and operational matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including contracts, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), and agreements with external stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable state and central laws, including regulations from statutory bodies such as UGC, AICTE, and others governing higher education.
- Represent the Indira Group of Institutes in legal matters, including litigation, dispute resolution, and arbitration, when required.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities for approvals, licensing, and other documentation processes.
- Design and implement internal policies aimed at minimizing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and interpret changes in legislation and government regulations that impact higher education institutions.
- Educate and guide internal teams on legal procedures, documentation, and compliance standards.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized university.
- Minimum 10 years of legal experience, ideally within the education sector or in a corporate legal environment.
- In-depth understanding of Indian education laws, labor laws, and contractual legal frameworks.
- Strong skills in legal drafting, research, analysis, negotiation, and communication.
- Proven ability to provide clear legal guidance in a fast-paced, compliance-focused environment.
