Details of the Job/Internship
Indira University is hiring a Legal Officer with 8+ years of experience to support its legal and compliance functions.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on academic, administrative, and operational matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MOUs, and agreements.
- Ensure compliance with state and central laws, including UGC and AICTE guidelines.
- Represent the institution in legal proceedings, disputes, litigation, and arbitration.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and manage approvals and documentation.
- Develop and implement policies to mitigate legal risks.
- Stay updated on changes in education laws and regulations.
- Train and guide staff on legal and compliance matters.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized university.
- 8+ years of legal experience, preferably in the education sector or corporate legal department.
- Strong knowledge of Indian education laws, labour laws, and contractual frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
