Details of the Job/Internship

Indira University is hiring a Legal Officer with experience of 8+ years to join their office in Pune. The role involves safeguarding the institute’s legal interests by advising on academic and operational matters, ensuring compliance with statutory bodies such as UGC and AICTE, drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing litigation, liaising with regulators, developing risk-mitigation policies, training staff on legal protocols, and monitoring developments in education laws.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to leadership on academic, administrative, and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MOUs, and agreements with external parties.
• Ensure compliance with state and central laws, including UGC, AICTE, and other statutory guidelines.
• Represent the Indira Group of Institutes in legal proceedings, disputes, litigation, and arbitration.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage approvals and documentation.
• Develop and implement internal policies to mitigate legal risks.
• Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting higher education institutions.
• Train and guide staff on legal and compliance matters.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognised university.
• Strong knowledge of Indian education laws, labour laws, and contractual frameworks.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
• 8+ years of legal practice, preferably in the education sector or a corporate legal department.
