Indira University is hiring a Legal Officer with over 8 years of experience to safeguard the institution’s legal interests. The role involves providing legal advice on academic and operational matters, ensuring compliance with statutory bodies such as UGC and AICTE, managing litigation, and developing risk mitigation policies.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to leadership on academic, administrative, and operational matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MOUs, and agreements.
- Ensure compliance with central and state laws, including UGC and AICTE guidelines.
- Represent the institution in disputes, litigation, and arbitration matters.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage approvals and documentation.
- Develop and implement internal policies for legal risk mitigation.
- Monitor changes in education laws and train staff on legal and compliance requirements.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law from a recognized university.
- Strong knowledge of Indian education laws, labour laws, and contractual frameworks.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Age between 30 and 45 years.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in legal practice, preferably in the education sector or a corporate legal department.
