Details of the Job/Internship
LALBABA Engineering is hiring for the position of Legal Officer with 5 years of experience to join their office in Kolkata.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contract Negotiations: Draft and review contract proposals, counter-proposals, and agreements related to labour/vendor negotiations.
- Contract Interpretation: Interpret contractual agreements for employers and employees involved in collective bargaining or labour relations.
- Dispute Resolution: Mediate discussions between employer and employee representatives to resolve disputes.
- Stakeholder Meetings: Coordinate and participate in discussions with unions, government bodies, and other stakeholders on labour-related matters.
- Bargaining & Negotiation: Propose resolutions for collective bargaining agreements and other labour negotiations.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure adherence to labour agreements and company policies.
- Arbitration Support: Represent the company’s position during arbitration and labour negotiations.
- Documentation: Draft letters, notices, circulars, and amendments related to labour relations, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
- Hearing Coordination: Schedule and manage grievance hearings and other labour-related meetings.
- Disciplinary Actions: Review and approve disciplinary actions such as reprimands, suspensions, or terminations.
- Mediator/Arbitrator Selection: Identify and engage mediators or arbitrators for disputes.
- Management Advisory: Advise management on contract administration, disciplinary procedures, and grievance handling.
- Training: Develop and conduct training sessions for managers on labour relations and contract administration.
- Legal Documentation: Assist in preparing legal documents including summonses, complaints, motions, and pretrial agreements.
- Compliance Reporting: Prepare and submit governmental reports or forms related to labour relations and compliance.
- Information Gathering: Assist attorneys in collecting records such as employment and medical records for ongoing cases.
- Research: Review legal publications and perform database searches for relevant laws and court decisions.
- Stakeholder Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with external legal counsel and government agencies.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement industrial relations strategies that align with organisational goals.
Eligibility
- LLB (3 years/5 years) – Full-Time
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in legal practice, with at least 2 years in Labour Courts/Tribunal.
- Preferred Experience: Handling Trade Unions and Contract Labour matters will be an added advantage.
Salary/Stipend
