Details of the Job/Internship

PD Consulting is seeking an experienced Legal Officer to join our team on a part-time, remote basis. This role is ideal for a seasoned legal professional looking to contribute 20–25 hours per week while supporting a wide range of legal and compliance matters.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Legal Operations (50%)

• Draft, review, and manage all legal documents including MOUs, NDAs, licensing, employment, and vendor agreements.
• Oversee legal compliance for Indian startups (MSME, DPIIT, GST, MCA, etc.).
• Ensure IP protection (trademarks, copyrights, patents as applicable).
• Handle onboarding documentation and partnership frameworks.
• Assist in policy creation: HR, data protection, refund, privacy (especially for D2C/eCommerce models).
• Support investment readiness: due diligence, term sheet review, SHA and related documentation.

2. Business Operations (50%)

• Collaborate with product, finance, HR, and ops to ensure legal and strategic alignment.
• Advise founders on legal risks and opportunities in key decisions.
• Contribute to business development, vendor negotiations, and partnership structures.
• Understand regulatory nuances across sectors (healthcare, edtech, foodtech) and align legal strategy accordingly.

Eligibility

• Law graduate (LLB or higher) with minimum 5 years of experience in legal, compliance, or contract management.
• Familiarity with the Indian startup ecosystem and early-stage operations.
• Passionate about impactful startups and comfortable with an equity-first compensation model.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently and remotely.
• Bonus: Experience in D2C/eCommerce, wellness, or education-based businesses.
