Sandfire is hiring a Legal Officer with experience of 2 years to join their office in Australia.

Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare correspondence for the CLCO Team promptly.
- Prepare initial drafts of standard documents from precedents including confidentiality agreements, consultancy agreements and variations.
- Create execution summaries, and co-ordinate signing, of contracts.
- Update and maintain the precedent register, including tracking precedent renewal dates and reminding precedent owners of review requirements.
- Review third-party terms and conditions and make recommendations and amendments as required.
- Assist the CLCO Team in the management of legal matters including transactions and disputes.
- Identify and assist with managing legal risks.
- Conducting legal research as required.
- Providing support to the Company Secretariat as required.
- Prepare and maintain processes and procedures for effective and efficient contract administration.
- Assist with monitoring and compliance functions of the CLCO Team, including integrity and due diligence checks on new and existing Suppliers, and monitoring Lexis Nexis Compliance (or other applicable tools).
Eligibility
- Degree in Law.
- A minimum of two years experience as a paralegal or related Legal role.
- Highly capable in Microsoft 365 and other office software (LawVu and SharePoint desirable).
- High level of initiative.
- Basic knowledge of corporate and mining laws and regulations (desirable)
- A good team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to effectively prioritize.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Spanish (desirable).
