Manipal Hospitals (MHEPL) is hiring for the position of Legal Opportunity to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
Compliance Management
- Monitor, maintain, and analyze statutory and regulatory compliance across all group hospitals.
- Develop, update, and communicate compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments, identify areas of vulnerability, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Support internal audits to evaluate compliance with policies and procedures.
- Track compliance metrics, prepare management reports, and recommend improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, findings, and corrective actions.
- Advise operations teams on compliance-related risks and strategies.
Litigation Management
- Draft and vet notices, pleadings, and submissions for medico-legal and commercial litigation.
- Maintain litigation trackers, analyze trends, and recommend prevention strategies.
- Manage medico-legal cases by coordinating with medical teams and external advocates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with advocates nationwide.
- Respond to statutory and regulatory notices and manage complaints.
- Oversee litigation management tools, ensuring efficient case and notice tracking.
- Draft recovery notices and actively support debt recovery.
- Conduct medico-legal seminars for internal stakeholders.
Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including MSAs, service agreements, SOWs, NDAs, subcontracts, and change requests.
- Manage the complete lifecycle of contracts, including filing, tracking, and renewals.
- Prepare SOPs, guidelines, dashboards, and reports to support contract governance.
- Summarize contracts, assess obligations, track renewals, and support audits.
- Provide clear, risk-based recommendations to internal stakeholders.
Real Estate Management
- Maintain real estate profiles of group companies.
- Conduct title due diligence for acquisitions and ensure timely renewal of leases.
- Draft and manage LOIs, lease agreements, and sale documents, including registration.
- Build and maintain cordial relationships with lessors.
Intellectual Property Management
- Manage the organization’s IP portfolio (trademarks, patents, copyrights).
- Monitor IP violations and take appropriate enforcement actions.
- File and manage new applications for trademarks and patents.
- Respond to regulatory notices and communications related to IP.
Eligibility
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, quality, safety) to address compliance concerns.
- Assist in due diligence and legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
- Support company secretarial activities.
- Liaise with external counsel and other stakeholders for legal matters.
