Details of the Job/Internship

KKR is hiring for the position of Legal Product Counsel Manager with 7+ years of experience to join their office in Gurugram. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for KKR’s global alternative investment platform, focusing on the distribution and offering of fund interests through third parties.
• Draft, review, and negotiate distribution, placement agent, and related agreements, while coordinating with external counsel and internal teams.
• Advise stakeholders on compliance requirements tied to such agreements.
• Serve as a central resource for internal stakeholders and external partners regarding new and existing arrangements.
• Maintain and update templates, playbooks, negotiation guidelines, and agreement trackers.
• Manage internal repositories and logs for distribution-related documentation.
• Support ad hoc legal and fund-related projects as the platform expands.

Eligibility

• Law degree with 7+ years of experience in asset management, either at a top law firm or within an investment management organization.
• Strong knowledge of distribution agreements and fund documentation.
• Familiarity with the following areas is a plus:
• Anti-money laundering (AML) / know-your-customer (KYC) laws and processes
• U.S. federal securities laws (Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Company Act of 1940)
• Compliance matters for an SEC-registered investment adviser
• ’40 Act and registered funds
