Details of the Job/Internship

Kotak Mahindra Bank is hiring a Legal Professional with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in banking or NBFC to join their Noida office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Handle civil and criminal court proceedings.
• Draft replies and representations on behalf of the Bank.
• Coordinate with advocates for arbitration orders under Sections 9 and 17 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996.
• Execute arbitration awards.
• Manage matters under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 and the Payment and Settlement Systems Act, 2007.
• File and follow up on complaints under Sections 175 and 223 of BNSS.
• Liaise with police for execution of summons and warrants.
• Handle consumer protection matters.
• Manage recovery and civil matters applicable to banks and NBFCs.
• Represent matters before the Debt Recovery Tribunal.
• Collaborate with field teams for execution of court orders.
• Resolve escalations with the Reserve Bank of India and other government authorities.
• Prepare MIS and legal presentations for management using technology.

Eligibility

• Law graduate.
• Minimum 5 years of PQE with a Bank or NBFC.
• Conversant with civil and criminal court proceedings.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to draft replies and representations independently.
• Capable of working independently and mentoring a team.
• Proficient in legal procedures and banking-related litigation.
• Comfortable working with field teams and using technology for MIS and reporting.

Salary/Stipend
