It's Not A Compliment India is a brand new vertical of the Centre For Green Building Materials and Technology (CGBMT). They are a movement united in our belief that street harassment should not have a place in our society.

They aim to empower allies against street harassment by providing knowledge, and evidence, and advocating for an intersectional feminist movement against street harassment in Bangalore and India. This is because they recognize that altering societal attitudes toward street harassment is necessary to bring about lasting change.

Details of the Job/Internship

This full-time remote Legal Research Intern position at It's Not A Compliment India can be based anywhere in India. The Legal Research Intern will be responsible for researching relevant laws and precedents pertaining to intersectionality in street harassment (sexism, casteism, communalism, abelism, transphobia, queerphobia, abelism, and other forms of discrimination in public spaces), developing a minimum of one legal resource toolkit and providing support to our legal advisor in drafting legal documents if required.

• Compensation: 7,000 per month
• Start date: As soon as possible

Eligibility

• Currently enrolled in (4th or 5th year) or recently graduated from a law program or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in human rights for all, and/or feminism.
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present research and analysis in a clear and concise manner.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization is a plus.
• Experience with advocacy, community organizing, and working with NGOs is a plus.
