Uplevyl is hiring a Legal Researcher – AI, Technology & U.S. Law with experience relevant to the role.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct research on U.S. federal, state, and local laws across multiple domains.
- Identify legal differences and nuances across states.
- Summarize statutes, regulations, and legal requirements into concise insights.
- Locate authoritative legal sources and validate credibility and recency.
- Flag ambiguous, conflicting, or outdated legal content.
- Translate legal rules into structured formats suitable for AI systems.
- Prepare clear and well-organized research summaries.
- Review AI outputs for legal accuracy and clarity.
- Communicate findings to legal and non-legal team members.
Eligibility
- LL.M. students or Ph.D. researchers in Law with strong research and writing skills.
- Experience with legal research tools such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and state legislative portals.
- Strong written communication and analytical abilities.
- Ability to simplify complex laws into actionable insights.
- Experience in interdisciplinary or research-heavy projects (preferred).
- Familiarity with AI concepts, data structuring, or legal informatics (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, critical thinking, and ethical judgment.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
