Details of the Job/Internship
Carborundum Universal Limited is hiring a Legal Specialist with 6–8+ years of experience to manage end-to-end corporate legal functions for the company and its subsidiaries and joint ventures, based in Chennai. The role covers contracts, litigation, compliance, intellectual property, property matters, advisory work, and mergers and acquisitions.
Role and Responsibilities
- Managing the complete contract lifecycle using contract management systems.
- Vetting contracts and coordinating execution, renewals, amendments, and MIS reporting.
- Maintaining and updating standard contract templates.
- Conducting contract audits, risk assessments, user training, and system enhancements.
- Managing litigation in India and overseas through external counsel.
- Coordinating with law firms, senior counsels, and internal stakeholders.
- Drafting and reviewing pleadings and ensuring timely representation and reporting.
- Handling HR-related litigations and supporting asset attachment proceedings.
- Managing intellectual property including trademarks, patents, designs, and copyrights.
- Overseeing registrations, renewals, infringement monitoring, and enforcement actions.
- Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for listed entities and group companies.
- Conducting legal audits for manufacturing plants and supporting governance initiatives.
- Handling immovable property matters including acquisition, due diligence, registration, mortgage, release, and disposal.
- Advising business teams on employment laws, compliance, expansion, and closures.
- Representing the company before regulatory and government authorities.
- Handling fraud, whistle-blower complaints, investigations, and spurious product cases.
- Conducting legal due diligence, drafting, and negotiating transaction documents for mergers and acquisitions.
- Managing legal documentation and data and conducting legal awareness and training programs.
Eligibility
- 6–8+ years of experience in a corporate legal or in-house role.
- Strong exposure to contracts, litigation, and compliance.
- Experience in manufacturing and or listed companies is preferred.
- Hands-on and commercially oriented approach with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
