Details of the Job/Internship

EdgeVerve Systems Limited is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracts with a minimum of 6 years of experience to join their office in Bangalore.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, structure, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including MSAs, software licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, vendor agreements, business alliance partner agreements, NDAs, and letters of engagement.
• Negotiate contracts with internal business teams and clients across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assist with RFI and RFP responses and business opportunities.
• Advise internal stakeholders on contractual positions and corporate policies by assessing risks and proposing mitigations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address contractual requirements and queries.
• Support the standardization of processes and templates for efficient legal support delivery.
• Assist with dispute resolution relating to commercial contracts.
• Manage complex contractual matters and independently lead client negotiations.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions for team members and internal stakeholders.
• Create and manage legal processes, standard templates, and knowledge repositories.
• Advise on risk management strategies and cross-border legal issues and coordinate with external counsel.
• Train and mentor new joiners and junior legal team members.
• Provide timely legal advice to business stakeholders and support urgent matters and deliverables.

Eligibility

• A law degree from a reputed university or law school.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
• Prior experience as in-house counsel is an added advantage.
• Strong communication, drafting, and research skills.
• Good domain knowledge of commercial, intellectual property, and data privacy laws.
• Strong analytical ability to assess and quantify risks.
• Ability to represent the organization’s interests internally and externally.
